Angeles Ross currently works as a Bilingual Community Engagement Specialist at Denver’s Early Childhood Council, where she recently found her “sweet spot” within the early childhood community, recognizing that she can leverage her identity of an immigrant Latinx woman to bring voice to those who do not have a seat at the table and advocating for them to be heard when they have something to share. Within her position, Angeles wears many hats, having to shift gears readily from coordinating and logistics work to advocacy and stakeholder relationship building. She is also one of the Council’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Co-Chairs, where she is working to reframe the Council’s current strategic plan through a more just and equitable lens.
With a driving passion for human rights, Angeles has focused her work to understand the injustices children face at the hand of adults due to their lack of voice within policy making. She is committed to advocating for family, friend, and neighbor care to ensure all early childhood educators are able to provide the highest quality of care. She is also deeply committed to understanding the preschool-to-prison pipeline and how to dismantle it.
Angeles is currently a fellow within the Buell Early Childhood Leadership Program. She received her Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Sociology at Florida State University.
