I was born and raised in New York City. I have spent the last fifteen years working in childcare. I spent the first 10 years working in classrooms for ages infants through gifted and talented first graders. I have worked in a variety of settings: Profit/Non-Profit, Reggio inspired, Head Start. After those teaching experiences I moved to Colorado to obtain a higher ed degree. I was able to shift from the classroom to administration in my time in Colorado. This shift has motivated me to advocate at a national level about the rights of students.
I currently hold two Early Childhood Education degrees from The City University of New York (A.A.S, and B.S). Currently I am in the Buell Early Childhood Leadership Program. I work at The Goddard School at Louisville as the director of education. I have been privileged to serve the community of Louisville for almost three years. I have fought hard to improve the quality of our school. We are currently awaiting our first state rating. For fun I play Ultimate frisbee competitively at a national/international level. From 2012 -2015 I was able to play professionally. During my entire professional career I served as the captain of the team. That leadership experience has helped me tremendously in my early childhood career.
I want to be an agent of change. I hope to continue expanding my experiences and networks. I look forward to learning more about our state and national politics. I want to be “in the room”. I hope to spread a message of love and hope for our children. We must protect their right to communicate and add their gifts to a quickly evolving world. Let's prepare them for the future by allowing them to grow organically. Guidance over criticism. Love over obedience. Let’s let the kids play.
