Naomi Esquibel is the Executive Director and on-site owner of The Goddard School of Arvada. She has called Goddard home since 2011 and considers herself blessed to be a part of the Goddard family.
Naomi received her Bachelor of Arts in Liberals Studies, focusing on Elementary Education and Ethnic Studies from the University of California, Riverside in 2004. She later entered an intern credential program, in the school district she grew up in, in her hometown of Ontario, California. Shortly after she stepped away, to help care for an ill family member. At the time, she was unaware that this decision would pivot her towards a future in the field of Early Childhood.
Naomi began her official journey in early childhood education when she became the lead teacher of Apples in the Making, a small part time program that was based out of the Redlands Community Center in Redlands, California. The part time hours allowed her to continue working in education, while still caring for her family. It also lined up perfectly with her previous experience of teaching toddlers in Sunday school. She quickly realized that it was children under five who she enjoyed teaching the most. Naomi spent almost three years leading the small teacher team of Apples in the Making before moving to Colorado in 2011.
In December of 2011 Naomi began her journey at The Goddard School of Arvada. After spending just over a year in the classroom she joined the administrative team. During this time she earned her Early Childhood Director Certificate through Front Range Community College. In 2015, she took on the role of Executive Director. During her time at Goddard she has been able to impact and cultivate the community that she calls home. When she speaks of her school community she includes children, parents and educators alike. Her passion for this community led her to join the ownership team in January 2021.
In May of 2021, Naomi joined Cohort 14 of the Buell Early Childhood Leadership Program and will continue working towards her Masters in Early Childhood Leadership. Over the years Naomi has gained a passion for contributing to the development and well-being of our early childhood workforce. As an early childhood leader she hopes to see that passion lead to impact. Her greatest hope is to see the leaders of the nonprofit and for-profit sectors of early childhood programs find ways to creatively work together to increase the quality of care, not just for our children, but also for our workforce.
