Robert McMullen is currently a graduate fellow in the Buell Early Childhood Leadership Program (BECLP). Formerly a staff member of the Children’s Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus, serving as one of the organization’s Education Operations Coordinators, Robert has been involved in the nonprofit cultural sector in Denver for roughly fifteen years, most recently spending the better part of four years in the field of Early Childhood Education. Robert is a Denver, CO, native, witnessing the transformation of his community and the whole of the city into a burgeoning, cosmopolitan metropolis.
The son and sibling of military veterans, including his father and three brothers, Robert also understands the importance of a commitment to serving his community and society, and emphasizes his time at the Children’s Museum as a crucial aspect of living up to that promise. During his time at the Museum, Robert provided logistical and on-the-floor support and guidance to Education Department Associates, coordinated with other leaders amongst the staff to establish and sustain an optimal guest experience, and had the opportunity to engage directly with families who visited the museum on a regular basis. Robert views his involvement in the Buell program as a chance and the impetus for cultivating his leadership capacity and capability to better serve his community.
Robert earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in 2016 and prior to that, his Master’s in Management (MM) degree in 2014 from National American University. Robert is also an alumnus of the University of Colorado, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in Art History, cum laude, in 2005. Robert feels that his educational background and professional experience provide a unique lens from which to carry on his efforts in ECE.
