Bethanne Rodriguez is the Quality and Safety Program Specialist for Jeffco Public Preschools and has held various leadership roles since joining the Jeffco Early Learning team in 2015. She has worked to create systems and processes that elevate state and district quality and safety expectations, while also providing tools and resources to make it transparent, simple, and accessible.
As a daughter of teachers, a mother of five, and an early childhood educator for 10+ years, she knows and understands the tremendous impact access to early childhood education can have on the lives of children. The fight for agency of children drives her passion for many aspects of early childhood. She consistently uses her voice to advocate for the preschoolers she works with, and elevates the necessity for teachers to have the training and tools they need to offer a positive, safe learning environment and how to give students agency in the classroom. She believes passionately in the need to look for alternative pathways for young children to learn that reflect the unique individuals they are, rather than measuring against standards that are written to mirror the privileged. She is constantly looking for ways to chip away at the inequity and systematic bureaucracy to impact positive and lasting change for the education and well being of young children.
Bethanne is part of the 13th cohort of the Buell Early Childhood Leadership Program, on course to complete certification in June, 2021. She is looking to then finish her M.A. from UC Denver in Early Childhood Education in May 2022. She holds a B.A. in Early Childhood Education and Administration from Ashford University.
