Kristen is an Early Childhood Educator in Denver Public Schools, currently at Fairview Elementary in Denver’s Sun Valley neighborhood. Previously, Kristen worked as a Teacher Leader at Denver Green School. She participated in school-wide curriculum, culture, and hiring decisions through the school’s leadership team. She created a mentor and coaching program for the school’s paraprofessional team. Kristen also mentored a group of 13 teachers through their first year at an innovation school.
Also, a mother of three children, two that are Denver Public Schools students, Kristen strives to keep her curriculum relevant and appropriate for the youngest learners and challenges others to do the same.
Kristen has a master’s in educational psychology from the University of Colorado Denver. She is currently a fellow in the Buell Early Childhood Leadership Program through the University of Colorado Denver. Kristen has a B.A. in Elementary Education with a focus in Child Development from Purdue University.
